There are two main import/export features in the Conjunction Finder: (1) using the built-in import/export buttons to save an event, or (2) use the "custom import" button to upload a list of event dates to cycle through.
Use the "Import" and "Export" buttons to save and upload the currently displayed items in the Conjunction Finder. This will include what satellite traces are enabled, what ASIs are toggled on, and the visibility of other data products.
The exported data will be automatically downloaded into a JSON file in your Downloads directory. You can then share the event by emailing the file to a colleague.
You can also use the "Custom Import" button to import a JSON file containing a list of objects. Once the JSON file is loaded, additional buttons will appear below the map to help interact with your event list. Any dates that are outside of the available date range for Conjunction Finder will be excluded.
You can download an example here .
The custom JSON file must be formmatted in the following way. Click here for a list of valid values.
[ { ground_based: { asis: { themis_asi: { site_states: { fsmi: true }, enabled: true } } }, satellite_traces: { themisa: true, themisb: true }, swarm_efi: { swarm_a_horizontal: true, swarm_a_vertical: true }, swarm_fac: { swarm_a: true }, epop_instrument_operations: true, fast_keo: true, projection: "orthographic", map: "north_america", timestamp: "2006-02-22T06:28:00", created: "2020/06/14 23:08:11 -00:00", app_version: "unknown" }, { ... }, ]
Using the dropdown selectors for the "Open in VirES" button, you can open the current time (+- 30 mins) and Swarm satellite selections in the VirES web application. VirES can be loaded using several different states available in the dropdown. Alternatively, you can choose a custom state file saved on your computer. To generate one of these, open up VirES and use the Workspace -> Export navigation item.
Please note, an account is required to use the VirES web service. You can create an account here.
